MANILA, Philippines – Following his spectacular debut solo exhibit, Points of Connection, world-renowned Filipino-American public artist, JEFRË, is proud to unveil plans for his latest public art commission: Heart to Heart, a permanent installation in Tradition, Port St. Lucie, Florida. Designed to be a vibrant destination for families and couples alike, the installation is set to be complete for public dedication on February 14th, 2022, Valentine’s Day.
Tradition is What’s in Your Heart
Commissioned by Mattamy Homes, Heart to Heart promises to be the world’s largest heart sculpture at 100-ft tall. This soaring, heart-shaped, mirrored stainless steel installation will rise above a 30-ft wide circular pool that forms the centerpiece for Tradition, a master-planned community in Port St. Lucile, Florida, USA.
“Tradition is what is in your heart,” shares JEFRË. “My goal is to create an iconic landmark for the city and people of Tradition. I want to build a postcard moment that brings people together.”
Designed as a community center that fosters relationships, Heart to Heart boasts a dynamic, gently twisting shape that rises above a circular pool below. Visitors can enter the sculpture through an interior staircase. This leads to a glass bridge that connects both sides of the sculpture before a far-reaching view spanning multiple directions; creating stunning sights during the day that is reflected in the sculpture as light shines over the pool’s surface. In the evening, the installation will be dramatically illuminated by LED lights.
“JEFRË understands our vision for Tradition and how integral art is to life in our community,” said Dan Grosswald, Mattamy President of Southeast Florida Division. “When we saw his sculptures around the world, we knew that he would create an iconic, recognizable piece of art for our current and future residents and for visitors to travel to see.”
Heart to Heart is expected to be unveiled to the public on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2022.
